Ironically this is the only reason Safari has the market share it does. If Apple didn't force its browser on iOS users, Chrome would dominate there too.

- saagarjha 6y agoI am curious what the market share split is on macOS.
- ChrisSD 6y agoI'd be interested too. I can't find the stats atm but I wouldn't be surprised if it were around 50%. Still, my hypothesis is it mostly survives because of iOS. Sites must work with iPhones therefore it takes little if any effort for macOS Safari to be supported.
