It is incredibly surprising how well this works out. I’ve currently setup two Pi’s this way. The first is a Pi zero w running Kali Linux. The second is an 8GB Pi 4 running RaspberryPiOS.
There is something awesome of being able to fire up a Linux desktop using a PI plugged in as if it were a peripheral, yet pull up a full desktop over VNC over the USB connection. Ipad, Pixel Slate, Windows Laptop, the endpoint client just does not matter anymore.
