Nice, I need to come up with a solution for this on desktop. My dream is a Chrome extension which recognizes Youtube ads and auto-mutes while they are playing.

- user2834 6y agouBlock Origin + Sponsorblock
- MaxikCZ 6y agoNow we need a blocker of bloat. I mean the kind of bloat where the video lures you on specific thing in thubnail/tittle and then theres minute of talking and into and "lets get started". Sponsorblock is godesnd, but so far only solution for above been to just stop watching certain creators
- lozf 6y agoI open youtube with `mpv` (which uses youtube-dl) ...Ads are automatically skipped, and there's a bunch of keyboard shortcuts for skipping & fine-grained speed control etc. I have a single-button shell alias that calls it with appropriate options, and a slightly longer one that adds a dynamic range compression filter which is sometimes handy.
- frankosaurus 6y agoInteresting... it looks like this can be done with Firefox's Open With extension. Is there a Chrome option?
- maest 6y agoYou can just use Firefox + ublock.
