Ancient Roman roads endure for millennia. UTA is researching why (DARPA project)
- unearth3d 6y agoRomans were thinking long-term "Most structures in the US are designed to last around 50 to 100 years". This is common to even the 20thC where early-century builds are easily upgradeable (and worth it), whereas late-century structures are not. IMO It's really about investment cycles; currently they're ~50 years, they used to be much longer.
