I think China is perfectly fine with this arrangement.
They have laws that require technology partners in certain industries, like Apple having a local partner host iCloud data. While in others, they can be completely independent, like Tesla in a China.
I’m guessing the Chinese government officials are actually really proud their model is being exported, as it vindicates their concerns.
- m0zg 6y agoOh, it's not being "exported" quite yet. To "export" it properly, we'd have to freeze out all of the Chinese companies from our markets entirely, unless they hire a bunch of NSA spies, and yield the controlling interest in their US operations to US government. And in case those Chinese companies do something we don't know how to do, pilfer their intellectual property wholesale as well.
