"So, what have you failed at this week?"
- z33k 6y agoI failed my real analysis II exam, I failed to make progress at the gym, I failed a quiz on agile software development, I guess you could even say I failed to go on a date since I got stood up.
- Jugurtha 6y agoYou can check out https://mirtitles.org https://mirtitles.org for books from MIR Publishers. These are amazing books. For analysis, you can check out: - "Problems in Mathematical Analysis" - Demidovich - "Differential and Integral Calculus" - Piskunov - "A Course of Higher Mathematics" - Smirnov Excellent books. [Link edited as I posted in a hurry. Thank you, sedeki]
- sedeki 6y agoCorrect link seems to be https://mirtitles.org https://mirtitles.org. Thank you.
- TheTrotters 6y agoSoviet era math problem books? Buy a few reams of paper too!
- Jugurtha 6y agoExactly. I actually did buy reams of paper and quantified my revisions days with how many sheets I had written. I made booklets folding A4 paper longitudinally in half. Easy to put in my back pocket. Solve problems everywhere. It's more economical, too, a lot of paper is not filled with ink if you leave it in A4, and folding it to make A5 doesn't sole the problem (short lines) an is impractical to carry (can't put in back pocket).
- colmvp 6y agoWell if it makes you feel any better, I've been using a dating app daily for the past two months and the last time someone actually matched and messaged me was early August lol
- fafk 6y agoReadjust your profile. Different photos, different "copy". This is marketing, think about it as such.
- dahart 6y agoBut you showed up for all of them! Your date failed you, and the only true gym fail is to not go. Good luck on your studies, you can do it.
- lioeters 6y agoImpressive! It must be tough to keep your spirits up after a string of such "failures" - but I want to congratulate you on trying time and time again. That's exactly the path to success, by continuing to challenge yourself, push the limits, explore opportunities and aspects of your potential; to meet difficulties as they arise, and to grow beyond them.
- giantg2 6y agoA lot. In my case it would be better phrased as what didn't I fail at. I had zero successes this week.
- _def 6y agoI can't imagine that is true. And even if it is, acknowledging that is a success, good job! If everything seems to fail, we have to focus on the things we accomplish every day and just take for granted. Even if they're small accomplishments.
- giantg2 6y agoI didn't get the data loaded for my personal project, I didn't get my story completed at work, and I can't think of anything that I actually accomplished this week.
- bradlys 6y agoYou’re not alone. I planned on my two week “vacation” being a mix of a week long getaway and then with vigorous leetcode studying in prep to get a new job. Instead, my partner decided this was the time to have a mental breakdown and question everything. So, didn’t get any time or energy to do any of it... plus the fires everywhere. Can’t get much more insufferable in this 400sqft inlaw unit I’ve been trapped in for years due to low income. Hopefully you don’t feel like you’re wasting all the vacation time you get. I certainly am feeling it. This job is insufferable and this time off hasn’t allowed me to progress in any form.
- giantg2 6y agoMy vacation time is used for home projects/chores, medical problems, and legal problems.
- LaFolle 6y agoHave been rejected by 4 companies I really would have loved to work for. All great mid level companies. Not losing hope, I shall prevail!
- SuoDuanDao 6y agoI failed to set sufficiently ambitious goals to have a good answer for that question
- isbvhodnvemrwvn 6y agoSame here. My failures of the week are forgetting to season my chicken properly (like how do you forget that...), I bought shoes which are too large (I got my feet 3d scanned to remedy that in the future), did not take old electronics for recycling (apparently the container where you leave it is closed on weekends) and for the second week in a row I failed to finish a book I'm reading (I decided to abandon it altogether since it's boring)
