I don't know if this is a hard constraint, but I believe this is how AWS organise the instances - you'll be sharing hardware with other instances of the same size.
- core-questions 6y agoI think it's more that it divides up. One physical machine may serve 8 c5.xlarge, 4 c5.2xl, 2 c5.4xl, or 1 c5.8xl (so to speak, not necessarily this exact instance). Would make sense to fit 2 c5.4xl alongside 4 more c5.2xl, for example.
