My job as a freelancer is to view the bigger picture of the client. Then discuss things and see what's the best course of action. Hardware, software, operating systems - all these are irrelevant. You advice your client to his needs, not to your " I like web apps so this has to be a web app". So in this particular case the phone had to be unloaded and that's exactly what I did.
