This was ten or more years ago, so I cannot speak for their current practices, but I hosted a domain on a godaddy VPS, and they hijacked the robots.txt file to exclude the site from getting indexed. Another issue that I remember was that they provided a free SSL cert that I did not want. They then charged me for renewal the following year. All it took was a phone call to get the charge reversed, but it was a phone call that I should not have been forced to make.
