Aren't other countries that have already ratified UP in violation of those agreements, too? I.e., how is this about Germany in particular and not about the European patent system itself?
- dalbasal 6y agoBecause it's a letter addressed to members of Bundesrat. It's not an article about the issue in general.
- zoobab 6y agoThe software patent directive of 2005 was rejected at the request for multinationals (IBM, Philips, Microsoft, etc...) who pushed for a central patent instead. Some other countries have ratified, some like Spain, Poland, Czech republic have stayed away for different reasons, like languages and higher costs of litigation for small companies.
