- guscost 6y agoYou are correct - for an average person, fear of COVID-19 will cause quite a lot more brain damage than the disease itself: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26651008/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26651008/
- monkeydreams 6y agoWhat a wit! For the average person who contracts COVID-19 it will cause quite a bit of incidental distress, and quite likely long-lasting damage to brain and cardio-vascular system.
- guscost 6y ago“Quite likely”? That’s a heck of a claim to base on zero evidence. In fact this press release appears to contradict it: > Symptoms affecting the central nervous system occurred in at least 0.04% of people with SARS and in 0.2% of those with MERS. Given that there are now 28.2 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide, this could imply that between 10,000 and 50,000 people have experienced neurological complications.
