We are Alpha Print and we 3D print homes & communities.
Hoping for feedback and if you're interested in helping us out lets us know. We are seeking funding and donations to help us get to an MVP as soon as possible. Our technology will help solve several issues especially with all of the fires happening right now people need this more than ever.
- jseliger 6y agoThat's extremely vague. "Powered by GoDaddy Website Builder" doesn't help. "Our technology will help solve several issues" What technology and what issues will it solve?
- randywmoore 6y agonoted. 3D printed homes will help solve the want of custom home floor plans, the need to have a safe fire resistant home in high fire zones, if for whatever reason your home is destroyed instead of waiting 6mo-1yr+ for someone to rebuild the same home out of the same flammable materials assuming your home is made from wood for example you can reprint your home out of cement instead in just a few days and be back in in less than a month from the time it was destroyed and that's built into the package so kind of replaces the need for massive insurance coverage on the structure
- nxc18 6y agoIs this legitimate? The website suggests that you aren't serious or focused. I see a page of affiliate links, a library of books you're selling on Amazon (only 3 of which appear to be available), and an energy drink with a very unprofessional product description. I also don't see _any_ evidence of prototyping or any reason to believe any of your other claims. Can you please provide any evidence or reason to trust you beyond ability to set up a scammy godaddy website?
- randywmoore 6y agoyou can try one of our books? theyre mainly tools for startups, companies and personal home use. amazon takes pretty much all of the money with KDP we get barely $1 a book that gets corporate taxes taken on it so yeah not really a money making thing it's more of a nice to have thing before investors try to kill the ideas off before we've fully worked out what we want for the company. it's focused on the 3D printed home and what we want to go with the home. so even if you cant afford to buy a home you can still buy our furnishings and publishings and support us that way. yes the energy drink is an inside joke but a serious product we wanted to make later on for fun. We are veteran owned btw. those claims are from already established metrics from the field of 3D printed homes. standard material deposition rates and curing times. we dont have a prototype? we need funding to build the prototype. so if you know anyone who would be interested in helping to fund us we would greatly appreciate it. and for a "scammy website" godaddy is terribly expensive i must say so if you have better hosting suggestions or templated websites besides godaddy or square im all ears $300+/year is not cheap when youre just starting so yeah any help there would be great
- randywmoore 6y agoalso figured out how to get rid of the godaddy footer just now so thanks
- jfim 6y agoIs this an actual product? The website has ads, the "Home library (tm)" is affiliate links to Amazon, there's a donation button, there's an affiliate links section to more affiliate links (to fiverr, Amazon, etc.) and "recommended products" to random stuff on Amazon. The preorder page for the product has all kinds of random options, such as "Gaming pack(tm) drink fridge (+$1000)" and "Crafting pack(tm) blacksmith ii (+$15000)." Missing on the website are actual pictures/plans of a house that's been printed. Or things like site selection for a house, access requirements, what is included (electric and plumbing?), etc.
- randywmoore 6y agonoted. the shop is mainly just for show to express what we want to offer and pricing to see what people have to say about it. more just us sharing our vision. there's a long road to the MVP and we need funding to be able to get to printing the first house. the packs are estimates for professional quality tools and products that we will hand pick ourselves based on professional experience in many of these categories or from outside sources that are more savvy than we. To get to the MVP we need something on the order of $500,000 no employees just me and my co founder and some contractors to do some of the trades you need licensing for.
- IanDrake 6y agoYou might want to check building codes. This would never fly in New England.
- randywmoore 6y agodepends on state, county, city, it's a nightmare of problems to be sure. we live in an area that doesn't have an issue with it so we don't have to fight legislature tooth and nail to build it that way. you can see what ICON has done that's essentially what we are aiming for but the first for-profit for home owners not a non-profit for homeless people like ICON. they're doing great work it just isnt profitable or scalable to do charity work and be impactful enough fast enough in the world like that. you can check them out here: https://www.iconbuild.com/ https://www.iconbuild.com/
- brodouevencode 6y agoA couple of notes: 1. Have a MVP before you advertise that you have a product. Learn from Theranos's mistakes. From the look of the site, you're ready to sell but in reality (from what you've said here) you're not. A hapless user may try to execute on your purchasing funnel and be sorely disappointed. You'd probably be better off with a "here's what we're trying to build, our plan, and our timeline". It doesn't look like you have any of those, hence why other commenters are thinking it's a scam. 2. With the actual product I think you're on to something. If you could incorporate an ability to make it mobile that would be pretty awesome.
- randywmoore 6y agoyeh thank you i was hoping for some good feedback on this. talked to a few more people and didnt realize that it appeared that way. everyone has just been giving the usual "oh that's nice" treatment and not giving anything useful back. It would be almost impossible to get to an MVP since that would be an actual house before recieving some form of funding. also not sure how much time people are willing to read about the tech so i tried to just leave out a lot of details until people indicated they wanted heavy details on each feature. not sure what to do with the store maybe just remove the purchase option? I like the vision/plan/timeline idea that sounds about where i thought this might have to go but that is definitely more detailed. yeh the intent is to have it become mobile like ICON did where it folds up into the back of a semi truck and port it around site to site. the shear scalability of the company i think is the most exciting business aspect since it makes addressing all the homes that need to be rebuilt after the fires relatively easy in comparison to traditional methods. ill be making notes from all this feedback from everyone and revising the whole site constantly. it's mainly just me working on it and i know next to nothing on most things besides the mechanical stuff. ive been machining and working with robots for years professionally so this is just taking that to the next level i guess.
- randywmoore 6y agoAlright i changed a bunch of stuff hope this makes everything look better and helps people understand the products better. Thank you again for all the input!
