FreeCAD is pretty cool and there are plenty of other great FOSS CAD/CAM tools worthy of mention. Is there something similar to the Blender Foundation geared towards CAD/CAM? There are some great non-SaaS tools out there if you're willing to spend a little money. Rhino 3D is one stand-out in this space. And if you're looking for a decent CAM solution, check out Estlcam. It's a stand alone tool with a ton of great features at a reasonable price.
