I think Peloton's largely upper-middle class target market that live in the suburbs or cities can find solid bike trails using Apple maps.
But you're right, it's too early to jump to conclusions.
- Tiktaalik 6y agoGiven the cycling unfriendly design of most NA cities, using a Peloton instead of an outdoor bike ride seems like a sensible safety measure to not get killed by a distracted SUV driver.
- servercobra 6y agoYup, I lived in Chicago only a mile from the Lakeshore Bike Path and almost never used it after a few run ins with distracted drivers and almost being hit. I use my (not Peloton) stationary and Peloton Digital all the time though.
- xwdv 6y agoHigher net worth individuals like the ones you find in the upper middle class also aren't going to be risking their life daily on a bicycle outside just for exercise. You can easily just roll out of bed at 6 AM and jump on a peloton and safely get good exercise everyday, no matter the weather or terrain.
