Maybe in the US but in many of the countries listed, Facebook and its associated properties are synonymous with the internet.
- gverrilla 6y agoI don't believe this to be true. It would only be true if you consider 'internet' can change meaning VERY FAST and almost inevitably. Because that's what happens, everywhere in the world: people get really excited about new tech and possibilities and explore everything about it, very fast. Facebook is trying to build itself in social/cultural fabric as some sort of institution of democracy or something like that, when in fact it's only a fad. This can change in almost a glimpse of an eye. Anyone who has taken the time to study platform strategy will know this.
