You’re likely being downvoted because of the way you stated your opinion, but I agree with the content. I actually really enjoy California—it’s such a beautiful state with a rich history (music, drugs, etc). I find that many of my coworkers don’t really like SF or California (no more than anywhere else) and it really kills the vibe here because they don’t appreciate what makes it special. I’ve already noticed some coworkers use corona as a good reason to move back to their hometown and I hope it continues.
- kelnos 6y agoSame. I moved to CA 16 years ago for work, with the past 10 years in SF, and I've been really happy. Things aren't perfect, by any means, but I really want to be here. There are obviously a lot of people who don't want to be here (perhaps they're only living here for work), and I'm not sorry to see people like that leave. I hope they find a place that makes them as happy as I am here, and I fundamentally believe that people who are invested in their community makes for a stronger, healthier place.
- taway2600 6y agoTechies think their money is god’s gift to california, when in reality the whiners have nothing creatively or socially to contribute. We welcome them with open arms, and they shit on us. For my sake and theirs I wish them happiness in whatever other part of the country they would rather be living. I don’t go to their home and bitch that it isn’t like my home.
- manigandham 6y agoName 10 things that have gotten better in California over the last 10 years. As a tax paying citizen, it's perfectly valid to criticize the state for being poorly run and making things worse. If you can't handle the criticism then that's a different issue.
