US Customs isn’t backing down, says seized OnePlus Buds violate Apple AirPods TM
- 2bluesc 6y agoSeems that this is the only logical next step if you publicize a false confiscation and don't want to look bad.
- netsharc 6y agoYeah, logical step in this shitshow "government": "what's right is whatever we say is right". Just like every other authoritarian state. Congrats America. As for Britain, see also Boris Johnson's illegal new bill: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/sep/14/brexit-internal-market-bill-passes-by-77-votes-amid-tory-party-tension https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/sep/14/brexit-inte...
- gowld 6y agoNext step is an executive order to ban One+ for being Chinese. Does Apple seriously have a trademark on the shape of the human ear? It's doubly ironic because Apple's trademark traditionally has been a circle shape for products that definitely should not be circles (mouse, earlier earbuds, office buildings).
- nemothekid 6y agoApple probably wasn't involved at all. Someone just saw they could make a career out of seizing "800K" of counterfeit American products without doing any diligence.
- paul_f 6y agoThis is just a coverup. Otherwise they're confiscating one Chinese manufactured wireless ear buds to protect another Chinese manufactured ear buds. Actually Apple is moving some production of Airpods to Vietnam. Because why manufacture in one Communist country when you can manufacture in two? :-)
- amaccuish 6y agoSomeone somewhere is looking for brownie points from the Administration... pathetic
- nullc 6y agoHas apple made a statement?
- dafoex 6y agoCorrect me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the trademark holder that gets to decide if their trademark is being violated, not the border force?
