The same interpretation hassles crop up when trying to extract text from PCL documents. This happened to me when implementing a SaaS feature allowing customers to use a printer driver to insert documents into a document repository. The weirdest one? an application where the PCL code points used the EBCDIC character set. For once, being an old-timer helped.
