- ChrisMarshallNY 6y agoIt’s a pretty emotionally-charged area. I worked for a Japanese camera manufacturer (one of their top ones), and had an up-close-and-personal relationship with the way they designed the UX of their devices. They have tremendous respect for their users, who often wrap their entire careers around the equipment. The company would often do things like make an angle just a tiny bit steeper in the handgrip; which would necessitate a great deal of re-engineering the internals, because users would report issues with the grip. But I allowed myself to read your article, colored by my own emotional cant, and I should know better. I can get a bit grumpy about what I consider the ham-handed approach to usability, practiced these days.
