To offer a slightly different frame: making products that suit people with differing cognitive ability doesn’t have to include a derogatory idea about them. Lots of wonderful people have difficulty with certain kinds of cognition. In addition to thinking through cognitive approaches to design for users with high cognitive ability we should also make simple, self evident interfaces that are therefor accessible to a broader range of users (when we can).
