This sounds a bit glib, but hear me out. Ask the question: If you were a team lead tomorrow, how would you go about hiring your coworkers? Honestly, that should tell you everything you need to know about: a) What kind of technical skills they value (i.e. will work to improve in themselves if necessary) b) Their interaction style with coworkers. Sure, this interview can probably be gamed, but IMO a lot less than your typical "reverse a linked list" style interview.
