An oilman's constituents are his shareholders, so this is really an issue for Congress.
If businesses are not required to account for externalities (such as environmental impact) then they generally will not do so.
- throwaway5752 6y agoIf the petroleum industry couldn't make political donations (and wasn't very aggressive about doing so), I would agree with you more strongly.
