Elixir has been my daily driver for four years, I came from a brief stint in Ruby. It's true that most problems are largely manageable by most/all languages. What I've come to appreciate is how often Elixir has made me a better programmer with its conventions. Their choices have steered me away from a lot of foot guns and forced me to learn better ways to do things.
