Perhaps make the arrow orange after I click it (or simply a tick, ✔ voted)? • It feels pointless to upvote the only comment in a thread, it doesn't affect anything unless more comments are posted (again, lack of feedback). • I often can't tell if a comment is any good (e.g. an answer to a scientific question), points really helped here.
