What I used the scores for most was to know when to stop scrolling down when a story was highly commented. I would figure that if there are 100+ comments chances are any threads that start with an initial post < 10 are safe to skip. Now though, I have very little info as to where I can "safely" stop. (Though I know I've gone too far if the font starts fading!)
