Java has checked exceptions, unchecked exceptions, and errors. Some checked exceptions, such as InterruptedException, should really be something else. I've very rarely seen this exception handled properly by anyone. Often, a general catch Exception will also catch this, and while the code will work just fine in most circumstances, random threads will not go away when they should. It's a mess.
