To everyone berating this guy about 'not being very depressed':
My depression is not your depression, and your depression is not theirs. Please stop judging.
- Chris2048 6y agoIsn't telling people to stop judging at least as bossy? People die of depression, there's good reason there would be emotion going against its perceived over-usage.
- mahathu 6y agoI agree, thank you for pointing this out. I don't mean to take anything away from people putting in the effort and helping themselves. It's great. I just feel the term depression as a medical diagnosis is used a bit excessively.
- thatcat 6y agoWhile it can be trivializing to people who are truly depressed when the term is used superficially, you have to be careful not to assume that someones depression is superficial based on your perception. Just because someone isn't late stage clinically depressed doesn't mean they're not in some stage of that process.
