The fact that sales are within a few 10s of percent is pretty remarkable, and I say that as someone who has been avidly buying vinyl since the early 2000s when CDs were still selling an order of magnitude or more units. Of course, vinyl sales have grown, but just as importantly online music sales and streaming have caused CD sales to decrease sharply over the past 10-15 years.
