If the rumors are true about increased frequency and IPC for Zen3, we should be in for quite a ride. Zen4 and a shrink to 5nm next year ought to produce some further benefits. I’m too old to “hate” Intel but the improvements we are seeing from both sides these last couple of years make clear how bad the stagnation had gotten. Gotta have competition!
