It's now possible to run a complete productivity suite in an office. Web mail is WAY more usable now than it was in 2005. Dynamic web apps made this kind of thing possible. I absolutely do not want to regress back to the time when every web app change required a submit; I mean, come ON. At the same time, it's assailably true that most apps - web, native, phone, or otherwise - are crap. But don't confuse bad developer choices with a bad platform, and don't let nostalgia convince you that everything was better in $some_prior_era.
