I'm friends with everyone I know, including my managers, if I've had some sort of extended contact. I went kayaking with my last manager for instance. I've even made friends during interviews (where I didn't take the job). I've had "managers" that I've only talked to once a month that I didn't become friends with but that's to be expected.
