You can’t stay safe merely by not tracking people. GDPR is over 50,000 words and largely untested in court. Beyond not doing bad things, you probably have to hire specialists and wait months for consultation before feature launches, but nobody can be certain they have met all the requirements to the satisfaction of the many separate authorities. Either you blow seven figures hoping to comply, you bet eight figures you’ll never be within EU jurisdiction, or you do this.
