How to Think Like a Hacker, Even If You Can’t Code
- the__alchemist 6y agoA tangent to the article's point about a coder's problem-solving mindset: Being a coder isn't an identity. Learning to code shouldn't be a wall. Learning a new skill can be intimidating, but but much of that is an emotional hurdle that can be surmounted. The best way to think like a coder(hacker?) is to become one. The problem-solving mindset will start to develop early in the journey. Sacrifice an evening you'd normally spend watching TV etc, and follow a coding tutorial instead. Or start with a project idea, and learn to code it, with your project idea in mind. Coding is a versatile enough skill that everyone who's had a passing thought of "If I were a coder" or "If I hired a coder" should at least give it a try.
