I love corporations. I choose to work in one. Corporations are assemblages of people. We use them to organize people for productive things. We know the things people do are productive because other people pay the corporation for it. If the corporation starts doing bad stuff they lose money and reform or eventually die. Corporations want their employees to be happy so they are more productive. No one is coerced into working for the corporation - people enter and exit voluntarily. Corporations don’t have ulterior motives of turning employees into devil worshippers or whatever the author is accusing them of.
I’m also happy that non profits exist so others can work for them if they choose to do so. While I am still free to choose I will work at corporations so I can be maximally productive and earn the most money I possibly can.
- 0_gravitas 6y agoSorry but "If the corporation starts doing bad stuff they lose money and reform or eventually die" is just completely false. More accurate would be "the corporation starts doing bad stuff that negatively affects the people that provide them capital _and_ those people have a viable alternative to turn to". Easy example that comes to mind, Nestle's exploits of the water-sources of communities that have no ability to fight back (see also, fracking).
