What I mean by "never say anything you don't want sticking around" is that you should never disclose things that could be used to dox you. Never give anything more than a very general general area for location, or speak about which college you went to, or where you work. Talking about hobbies is fine, preferably on multiple accounts so nobody can link them together into a complete profile.
