Does anyone actually like NetworkManager
- amenod 6y agoI do. When installing Linux on some comp which doesn't have specific networking requirements, it saves a lot of time.
- nulbyte 6y agoIt is quite handy on a laptop, where network conditions may change frequently.
- usr1106 6y agoIf you are Linux hacker with special requirements you might not like it. I give it to all members of the wider family that I convert to Linux and I have not had any tech support requests related to that ever.
- moonbug 6y agonope.
- maest 6y agoIt's funny that the only technically correct answer got downvoted. You can never answer that question with 100% certainty with "yes", only with "no".
- rcxdude 6y agoyeah, it does actually do its job pretty well in a large number of circumstances (especially compared to its competition). But if you don't have the problem its solving (which is basically the problem of dealing with dynamically connecting to a wide variety of different networks, i.e. a laptop), then there are nicer options (there's basically no reason to ever use it on a server, for example).
- vetinari 6y agoYes.
- declnz 6y agoYes - I've yet to see a better alternative...
