My wife moved in with my elderly (I was born late), widowed parent and I right after our wedding because there was no way I could leave them to fend for themselves after everything they'd done for me. My in-laws even encouraged it. It definitely wasn't the most romantic proposition but it hasn't stopped me from putting a ring on it.
