If we're being extra pedantic, hashing is just using some function that maps inputs to a set of values and is not necessarily hard to reverse and he should've used the term cryptographic hash.
- giantrobot 6y agoBut you're talking about cryptographic hashes which are by design difficult/impossible to reverse. Their unidirectional nature is what makes them cryptographic hashes instead of just plain hashes.
