I mean it's not like it's so important to visit the US anyhow. Their national parks are great, but that's about it. And there's plenty of nature elsewhere. Cities are dangerous, expensive and mostly rather ugly. I wouldn't cry if I was in his shoes. It's an annoyance, not really a great loss.
