Surely you want gaps with spongier material between slabs of rock to thwart sound waves, rather than thicker rock.
- bleepblorp 6y agoLayered assemblies (e.g. drywall/fiberglass/drywall) work best for stopping mid-range and high-pitched sounds, but for stopping low frequency noise (e.g. home theater bass) the only solution is mass and a lot of it.
