Microsoft is known for paying lower than FAANG, and most employees are in a significantly lower cost-of-living area (specifically, much lower cost of home ownership) than Facebook/Google/Apple/Netflix/etc. employees. Also, I wonder if employees who feel they’re being paid well would have anything to gain by filling this out. So there may be sampling bias.
