The EU?

The EU?
- free_rms 6y agoThat's actually a decent answer, thanks. But they're an economic-only organization. The EU didn't bomb Libya, France and Britain did.
- exdsq 6y agoOne of the arguments for Brexit was that they’re becoming far more than an economic-only organisation
- free_rms 6y agoYeah, and the handling of the Greece situation a few years ago proved that politics abound over justice or sanity in all arenas. It'll be interesting to see how it develops, they're clearly more of a governing body than the UN, but also seem to have steered clear of anything close to a security issue.
- im3w1l 6y agoI think a reason that the EU is so well behaved is that the politicians know that they don't just compete with each other, they compete also with the non-existence of the EU. With time, as it entrenches and everyone believes in their hearts that the EU is going nowhere, then it will be less nice.
- detritus 6y agoI'd wager that it's more of a Political Union (hence Brexit, to a degree?) and is still too young to have meddled much in an overall coherent military strategy. Time will tell.
- aloisdg 6y agoEach country of the EU has some dark corners, but I am still trusting them more than I would trust the USA, China or Russia.
- StreamBright 6y agoI used to think I could trust the EU more than he rest. No more. Wirecard story shows how much this trust is misplaced.
- bilekas 6y agoWell this is a ridiculous statement. That's like saying you don't trust the US anymore because ENRON messed up. Nonsense. The Germans are investigating it, and as always they will make changes to prevent the nonsense again. Ironically enough, it stemmed from the US model of too many lobbyists. :D
- StreamBright 6y agoHow is it going to help those people who lost their income in the middle of the COVID outbrake? Should I just trust the German authorities with the same trust as 1 year ago? Sorry but no.
