My father didnt want to have cable tv. On antenna we only got ORF (austrian television) and local one (which sucked). I needed almost 10 years to actually hear how Captain Kirk in Raumschiff Enterprise really sounds (everything is synchronized to german) like.
Side effect: I also fluently speak german.
And banning social networks is positive for your kids. Also ads.

- mongol 6y agoMy guess is parent lived in another country bordering to Austria. Italy? Hungary?
- kgwgk 6y agoAh, that makes sense. I thought it was Austrian + regional/city (and assumed he was a foreigner living temporarily in Austria), but it probably is Austrian + <home country> (could also be Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic; or Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia depending on the epoch).
