It's quite silly that the author doesn't know this, but the feature he requests exists already and has existed for 10 years -- Privacy Extesions for SLAAC in IPv6 (RFC3041). It's even enabled by default on Windows.
- pieter 15y agoYou're right, and I heard it's also enabled by default on OS X Lion. It's already enabled by default in the newer iOS builds.
- bensummers 15y agoGot link for the "enabled by default in Windows" bit? Which versions does this apply to? I'd like to add that correction to the article.
- sqrt2 15y agoI've seen it on Vista, 7 and on XP once IPv6 is enabled. Concerning sources, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Search/en-GB?query=rfc%203041%20default&beta=0&ac=8 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Search/en-GB?query=rfc%2... turns up a few articles.
