We are not productive for 2 reasons: 1. our methods of learning are wrong, we learn best by asking others and experimenting, not by reading reference texts or passively attending lectures. 2. we lack the skills and tools to get things done, especially in IT our tools are mostly junk and the skills required to do the job change continually.
