Did the author get permission for this attempted Good Samaritan deed? Or did he go out on his own and screw up the implementation without the contract owner's knowledge?
If it's the latter, that's kind of a shit move.

- DevX101 6y agoI don't think what the author did was illegal. This is more of an ethical consideration where consent should have been requested from contract owner before doing a known risky operation.
- andrewflnr 6y agoThe Copenhagen Interpretation of Ethics strikes again. OP tried to help and didn't actually make things worse, but they touched the situation so now it's their fault.

- literallycancer 6y agoHe says it in the article. The first person to call that function gets the extra money. Why would you ask permission in that case? You can't make it worse.
