Three points about TDD. 1). For some people TDD helps them gather their thoughts and design. Gives them a place to start their coding. For some people, like me, i rather just start writing the code. 2). I think it is important to have failing tests. TDD is one way to arrive to this. One thing I like to do is that after writing my code, i then write the test, then comment out the code to create a failing test. I want to make sure that the code is passing because of the new code. 3). For fixing bugs, TDD is a must... IMHO. You want to make sure you are fixing the right thing, so create a failing test first.
