i've read an old article that talk about how much TSMC made from Apple. its about $10 per chip. i believed TSMC make their money from volume.
- monocasa 6y agoConsidering that Apple buys a lot of different chips from TSMC of radically different areas, that might be a questionable metric. They might average out to $10 a chip if you consider the chips in airpods and the application processors equally as each one chip. What'd be more interesting would be cost per square mm of silicon.
- AgloeDreams 6y agoAt > 100 million chips per quarter. ;) These are insane numbers.
