Unity indeed abandons lots of its features, another part is bad. Fortunately there are 3rd party solutions for many of them and you can easily create your own for features you need that will serve you for years to come. Also I have been using Unity with self hosted Gitlab and never had any problems, though you need to get used to it for sure.
