It's not financially subsidized in Canada. My wife and I pay several thousand more in taxes than if we were roommates.
I've always thought that was a great disincentive to marriage if one were logical.
- wenc 6y agoThis is curious: are you filing jointly or separately? In general, filing jointly typically results in either the same or lower taxes.
